Raha Express has been named the best managed fleet of Matatus in Kenya. The company won an award in the 9-13 seater category during the road safety awards ceremony held at Carnivore grounds in Nairobi on Thursday.
The awards ceremony was sponsored by the Association of Kenya Insurers. Various Saccos in the public service sector were honoured for their contribution in road safety.
Other notable winners included Chania travellers which was named the best managed mini-bus company. Tahmeed Coach won the award for the best managed Bus fleet.
Raha express Matatus ply the Meru-Nairobi route. They are commonly known as "shuttle" by Meru residents because they pioneered the nine seater shuttle matatus along the route. Their popularity is mainly as a result of timeliness, comfort of the spacious Toyota Townace matatus that they use and a vast fleet.
