President Uhuru Kenyatta will not run for re-election on a JAP ticket according to the one man who would know. Senator Kiraitu Murungi, who has been given the role of collapsing Jubilee affiliated parties into one, says that his team is in the process of setting up a party that Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto will use in 2017.
Senator Kiraitu has said that the Jubilee Alliance Party is one of the parties that will be abolished together with the other parties in the Jubilee alliance. However the new party will most likely retain the Jubilee name because of it's popularity.
The dissolution of Jubilee affiliated parties to form one party has received some opposition including in Senator Kiraitu's backyard where members of his Alliance Party of Kenya (APK) have expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to have their party swallowed.
