Former finance minister and North Imenti MP, David Mwraria, has been given a 10 day grace period by the Anti-Corruption court in Nairobi after his lawyer, Kioko Kilukumi, produced a doctor's report indicating that the minister was sick.
The court had earlier threatened to issue an arrest warrant if the former minister did not appear before it on Tuesday. He s facing trial for his role in a Kshs 7 billion Anglo Leasing scandal that rocked former President Mwai Kibaki's government under which Mr. Mwiraria served.
Lawyer Kioko Kilukumi revealed that Mwiraria was hospitalized over the weekend at Karen Hospital after his health deteriorated. he is now expected to appear before the court on 10th December 2015.
