The Land Rover Experience is an event that brings Land Rover fans together to have fun as they share their experiences about the vehicle they love.
The 2015 Land Rover experience will be held in Meru between the 11th to 13th December. Land Rover has a rich history in Meru. It was the vehicle of choice in the region, East of Mount Kenya, from independence until the mid-nineties.
Land Rover was the only vehicle that could navigate most roads in Meru during that period in history. But as the roads in rural-Meru improved other vehicle models were slowly embraced. Nevertheless the mark left by the Land Rover is indelible and the impact the vehicle had on the people of Meru will be felt for long.
Meru is still the 'home of Land Rover.' Nkubu town, for instance, is famous for the 109 and 110 models and many residents still own one.
I guess one has to attend in order to experience this somewhat nostalgic reunion. The 2015 Land Rover experience could as well be Land Rover's attempt at reclaiming what was once its most loyal market. But it could also be a way of saying thank you for the good old days. One thing we are sure of though is that it will be an event full of fun.
