Members of Parliament from Meru county have warned President Uhuru that their support for his government is being hampered by the high levels of corruption. They now want the President to deal firmly with corruption.

The MPs led by Igembe South MP, Mithika Linturi, want President Kenyatta to sack all corrupt officials in his government without further delay. They were speaking on Sunday during a funds drive at Kanguru in Meru county. Others who spoke were Meru Women Representative, Florence Kajuju, Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti and South Imenti MP, Kathuri Murungi.

They said they will support any move aimed at dismissing corrupt government officials even if such a move initiated by the opposition. Citing the recent cases of corruption as the reason why Kenya's economy was doing badly, they called on President Uhuru Kenyatta not to spare anyone regardless of their status in order to save the country from further decline.
