The Senator of Meru county, Kiraitu Murungi, has warned Alliance Party of Kenya (APK) delegates from attending a meeting slated for this Saturday under the direction of Governor Munya.
Governor Peter Munya has called a delegates meeting to discuss the direction of the party popularly known as the "Bus Party." Last month, Kiraitu Murungi led Meru leaders in declaring their support for the newly formed Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP). They resolved to join the party in readiness for the 2017 general elections.
Governor Munya refused to join JAP. He has decided to convene a meeting of APK delegates and like-minded leaders to discuss their next course of action. However, Senator Kiraitu has warned that the meeting is not genuine and those who attend will be doing so in their individual capacity. He said that he is the leader of APK and he has not called for any meeting. "I am the Bus driver...am the one who says where the bus will be parked."
Saturday will surely mark the beginning of a contest between the two.
