Last July organizers of Baite Night, an event that brought together youth from across Meru county, invited Mc Jessy to be the lead Mc. But the 'Churchill Raw' host declined arrogantly demanding to be paid first. Rumour has it that he was demanding more money than the entire budget for the event.
The event was held at Stardom Hotel in Kasarani. It doubled as a cultural and entertainment get together. A couple of Meru music artistes kept invited guests entertained. Unlike similar cultural events, like the annual Meru night, local politicians were not invited. Young and upcoming showbiz stars from Meru county graced the occasion.
The show went on in the absence of Mc Jessy but many of the youth who attended were disappointed by his actions. Being one of the most recognizable stars from Meru, Mc Jessy was expected to inspire the young artistes.
